Traffic Generation

Getting noticed by the Search Engines and appearing toward the very top of search engine results pages is just one way of delivering traffic to your website. This is sometimes referred to as Organic Search Traffic. For some businesses it can be the primary source of traffic to your website. Yet there are plenty of other ways to get traffic.

Before I go any further, I’d like to mention that a majority of business owners are goaded into believing that getting traffic to their website is the be-all, end-all goal. As you may have guessed by now, this philosophy is most often promoted by those who want to sell you services to drive traffic to your website.

I developed a seminar many years ago, before the days of the internet, in which the following slide appeared.

Advertising = Shotgun

Marketing = Rifle

The same holds true today. Modifying the theme a bit for the online world, I’d go with something like this:

Traffic = $

Targeted Traffic = $$$$

If you’re selling golf balls, there’s no use in sending someone to your site who is looking to buy a cookbook. There are numerous services out there that will send you tons of traffic to your website so that your “numbers” will look good. But you’ll make more sales of whatever you’re selling if you try to attract someone who is actually interested in buying what you are selling.

My Traffic Generation Consultation will examine both traditional and non-traditional ways to attract TARGETED traffic to your website to maximize your sales. We’ll spend about 30-45 minutes over the phone or in person to review and discuss the results and put an implementation plan in place to help increase the effectiveness of your traffic generation techniques.
