Cybernetic Light Theater

This unique project was developed for Buffalo Place. It is one of my more publicized accomplishments.  Located in Lafayette Square in downtown Buffalo, NY this combination of hardware and software allowed people to interact and control a variety of lighting in and around the park.

As a part of the project, I developed a new computer language to facilitate easily changing the logic and allowing integration of additional sensors and objects.

Data Acquisition System

A real-time data collection system developed for a local power company. This system allows users to select from several thousand possible points to track. The system will extract either current or historical values and allow them to be imported into a spreadsheet package for further analysis and graphing.

Retail Electronic Catalog

Retail automotive chain store environment. Functioned as Project Manager for a revised and expanded Electronic   Cataloging   System   (see   below)   based   on   the   IBM-PC/XT.   Responsibilities   included scheduling, management reporting, system analysis and design, interfacing with top management of client, ergonomic functionality studies, programming, installation, and training.

Performance Monitoring

For a utility; installed and customized commercially available software packages for on-line performance monitoring   using   real-time   FORTRAN/PASCAL.   Extensive   involvement   with   Westinghouse   Data Interface Subsystem, CALPRO, GRAPH, and RMX. Designed and modified diagrams for graphic display of operational parameters.

Generation Reporting

Wrote a package for a utility using real-time PASCAL. Also utilized specialized Westinghouse software for accessing data highway (CALPRO) and inter-device communication (General Messages).
